5 years ago we received lots and lots of flowers. I kept them all alive as long as I could, both the cut flowers and the live flowers (orchids live a long time, even cut). Eventually everything faded away, first the cut flowers then the cut orchids; in the end I had an orchid plant that was limping along and a tiny rose plant. They both lasted a few years, though the orchid never flowered again, but the tiny rose that Molly gave us would flower every once in awhile and I would put all the blooms in this little bowl that David Powers blew in his first few years of blowing glass. They have been sitting on top of the bookcase in our kitchen untouched for a long long time, but we are moving and I’m going through everything and packing most of it away.
When I pulled them down they were coated by a plastic wrap of cobwebs.

There are lots of things to put away, some are those memories that you don’t want to get any further away from than you already are.
